CLDS Tech Talk: Real-time Analytics for Small Data, Big Data and Huge Data!

Event Date:
11/6/13

Archana Ganapathi, Research Engineer at Splunk, presents "Real-time Analytics for Small Data, Big Data and Huge Data!".

Data mining is often in the critical path of obtaining operational and business insights. Splunk is a platform for indexing, searching, interleaving and analyzing massive heterogeneous datasets in real time. This talk is about the Splunk architecture, search language, and UI.  Demos on real data sets will be included.

Ganapathi is a Research Engineer at Splunk, where she focuses on big data analytics. Prior to Splunk, Archana gained extensive experience in analyzing large production datasets and modeling system behavior at Microsoft as well as HP Labs. Archana received her PhD in Computer Science from UC Berkeley in 2009. Her thesis research explored data-driven techniques for predicting and optimizing performance of parallel systems including decision support databases, multicore processors and MapReduce.
