Based at the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC), University of California, San Diego, the goal of the Center for Large-Scale Data Systems research (CLDS) is to investigate and address the technology and management/economic issues related to the emerging large-scale data phenomenon.

CLDS is interested in the various modalities of large-scale data encountered in different types of applications; investigating end-to-end issues for large-scale data, from data creation, to ingestion, processing, and deriving value; understanding the high-performance processing requirements associated with effective management and processing of such data; the design of systems to manage and process the data; and development of benchmarks to reveal the performance and price characteristics of such systems.

CLDS is able to leverage SDSC’s significant expertise and large-scale resources.
